This is a black and white hand woven wool kilim from the Beni Ourain village in the high Atlas Mountains of Morocco. A kilim is a flat woven rug, it is not piled so it's relatively thin and these styles of rugs definitely need a rug mat if they are going on a slick surface like a wood or tiled floor. A mat will secure the rug so it doesn't slip or bunch up when you walk on it. The size is 6.5 x 8 feet so great for a small living room or under a bed in a large bedroom.
